Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 2 smartphone, which will be a foldable handset and is likely to be released, could be unveiled on August 11.

According to GSM Arena, Ice Universe has proposed this leak. Typically, Xiaomi announces new products weeks in advance, so this is a bit unexpected.

On August 11, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun will offer his third annual lecture, so the date is likely no coincidence.

The CEO stated, “I’d like to discuss something different: how everyone experiences setbacks and disappointments as part of the maturation process, how I climbed out of the trough in my life, and what life lessons I learned.”

Anyway, multiple leakers, including Ice and Digital Chat Station, saw a rumoured Mix Fold 2 screenshot by Lao Wei, Xiaomi’s Mobile Product Manager.

The smartphone’s resolution of 1080 x 2520px matches the rumoured 21:9 aspect ratio for the cover display. GSM Arena said that the original Mi Mix Fold’s cover display had a proportion of 27:9.

Moreover, that display had a refresh rate of 90Hz, whereas the new one would reportedly reach 120Hz. This should indicate that the internal display will feature a 10.3:9 aspect ratio, as opposed to the 4:3 ratio of its predecessor.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will include a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB or 1TB of internal storage.

It will enable 56W rapid charging, the same as the original model. The Xiaomi K50S Pro, the company’s first smartphone with a 200MP camera, may also be released on Thursday, according to GSM Arena.
